Artist Livestreams Images of Earth from Space in Mesmerizing Public Art Installation

Chilean artist Sebastian Errazuriz is known for his captivating public art installations, but his latest piece—titled blu Marble—is quite literally out of this world. The experimental project involves a monumental 20-foot LED structure depicting a live stream of Earth from space. Installed in the middle of New York City, the illuminated spherical sculpture invites the public to contemplate human existence. “Blu Marble is a reminder of our miraculously fragile existence,” explains Sebastian Errazuriz.

NASA’s Juno Probe Sends Back Incredible Photos of Jupiter’s Swirling Clouds

Since entering Jupiter's orbit in July 2016, NASA's Juno Probe has been steadily capturing revealing images of the giant planet. While the Juno mission was originally set to end in 2018, NASA has approved continued research through 2021, guaranteeing us 41 additional months of stunning imagery. As the spacecraft's JunoCam transmits RAW images back to NASA, they're placed online, allowing the public to intervene and process the images.

SpaceX Aims to Start a Self-Sustaining City on Mars in 2022

Elon Musk's SpaceX recently announced that Japanese billionaire Yusaku Maezawa will take a private passenger flight around the moon in 2023. Thanks to this trip, the company will be able to continue development on the BFR (Big Falcon Rocket), which will help with satellites, space station missions, and interplanetary transport. “Interplanetary” means that things are about to get interesting—all plans are leading up to the development of a self-sustaining civilization on Mars.
