If you have some time today, scroll through Christopher Haines's website to enjoy his amazing, digital artwork. Christopher Haines is a young graphic artist from Australia who, we feel, can somehow look into our future. We were lucky enough to get an interview with Haines to ask him a few questions. What inspires you? I am inspired by a passion to succeed. When something excites you it is easier to find a drive to excel. Life in general, and obviously other artists and artforms play a big part as well. Who are some of your favorite artists? Some of my favourite digital artists include Craig Mullins, Linda Bergkvist and Stephan Martiniere. As for graphic design or illustration, anything by Non-Format or Alex Trochut is very inspiring. How long do these pieces of art take you? My images can take anywhere from 20 to 50 hours from start to finish, depending on how clear a concept I have, and the amount of detail. What brought you to My Modern Met? I have visited My Modern Metropolis for a while now, its always been great to check out the latest happenings in the design world. I find it also displays quite unique content that isn't on all the other blogs. What software do you use? I use Adobe Photoshop & Illustrator, Poser and Cinema 4d
“If you want to succeed in design, you have to make it your passion and your focus. There are going to be people who don't like your work and want you to change, but there are also those who will want to give you the advice to make you a better artist. The trick is learning to tell the difference, and having a clear vision of where you want to go.” – Christopher Haines Christopher Haines
