Why hold flowers at a wedding when you could be holding a cute and cuddly puppy? For Sarah Mallouk Crain, an employee at the Pennsylvania rescue organization called Pitties Love Peace, having rescue puppies at her wedding only seemed natural. Both she and her now-husband, Matt, are huge animal lovers and have three rescue dogs of their own. Their special day wouldn't have been complete without some canine flair.
That's why the beautiful photos taken by Caroline Logan feature the wedding party posed with adorable rescue puppies instead of flowers! Although the puppies were only present during the portraits and not the ceremony itself, Logan says, “Having the puppies involved in the wedding brought so much additional joy to Matt and Sarah's day.” The bridesmaids cradled eight-week-old boxer-coonhound siblings in their arms—Martha, Abigail, Dolley, Elizabeth and Louisa (each named after the first few first ladies), while Biggie Smalls, a nine-week-old pit bull mix, snuggled in the arms of the bride. Even the groomsmen had time to play around with the pups. “The puppies, of course, caused the photos to be extra natural, candid, and carefree,” Logan shares with The Dodo. What a beautiful day of love and memories.
