If you're not a cat or a dog person, consider the next best thing: a giant tortoise similar to this man's faithful reptile companion. This elderly gentleman has become a familiar sight on the streets of Tsukishima, Tokyo, where he regularly takes his pet African spurred tortoise out for a stroll.
The gentle tortoise, who is sometimes spotted wearing a frilly pink pinafore, loyally follows its owner through the busy neighborhood even without leash or collar. Although it probably takes the adorable duo a while to make their daily rounds on foot, they look more than happy to take their sweet time together–just a man and his tortoise.
