Artist Dad Delightfully Colorizes His Kids’ Whimsical Drawings

Tattoo artist and environmentalist Fred Giovannitti is the father to three kids who enjoy drawing. And, like a lot of kids, they give their artwork to their dad. But instead of hanging their pencil sketches on the fridge, Giovannitti adds to their masterpieces while he travels for work. He uses colored pencils to enhance his children's whimsical drawings and transform them into 3D-looking characters.

Giovannitti sees his additions as a way of collaborating with his daughter and two sons no matter where he is. Better yet, his kids are blown away when they observe his handiwork – it must be fun to wait and see what dad will do! Giovannitti has brought characters like an elf, mummy, and even a beauty queen to life with his talents, but he always lets his children's imaginations shine through.

By popular demand, Giovannitti recently created an Etsy shop for these types of artworks. He calls it Coolaborations, and he'll color your kid's drawings in the same style as you see here.
