Proud Wanderer is a creative series by nature and animal photographer Howard Lau, aka HOWLD, that captures the exquisite motion of birds in mid-flight. In the series, Lau creates sensations that viewers are soaring high up in the sky alongside each bird. He provides us with a rare opportunity to see an actual bird's eye perspective of the world by merging multiple photographs together into one composition.
The intimate scenes focus on individual birds soaring above stunning landscapes with wings spread wide. The artist captures the crisp details of beaks, bodies, legs, and delicately feathered wings in the rare and sensational moments.
He gives his photographs titles like A Better Tomorrow?, Soul Searching, and All Around the World, and, as the birds fly bravely through the world, perhaps looking for adventures, viewers are invited to develop creative narratives about each bird's life. Where are they going? Where will they land? Do they have friends? Families? Where do they live? The artist says, “My goal is still the same no matter what kind of photography that I am into–to tell a story through the lens.”
