The 77th annual Golden Globes just called it a wrap, which means that the InStyle Elevator was back and busier than ever. For the fourth year in a row, the fashion magazine teamed up with Warner Bros. to throw a post-Globes after-party where the drinks and hors d'oeuvres were accompanied by an art deco-inspired elevator. There, celebrities showed their playful sides by creating charming short videos that were later shared on InStyle’s Instagram.

All of the videos have the same format. They start with an elevator door opening to reveal a celebrity (or celebrities) and sometimes a boy bellhop. From there, antics occur and run the gamut from showcasing fabulous fashions, like Storm Reid’s glamorous flowing dress by Rosie Assoulin, to downright silly scenes, such as Natasha Lyonne pushing an old vacuum into the elevator. As the door opens, she meets Fred Armisen who is inexplicably holding a soccer ball—and we won't spoil the rest.

The 2020 version of the set was designed by interior designer and creative director Nicole Hollis. “Our inspiration for this year’s elevator was the Golden Age of Hollywood and mid-century modern design,” Hollis explained. “We wanted to balance out dark and light while incorporating elements of gold, scalloped patterns, and dark hues.”
