Delicate Hoop Art Embroidery Blossoming with Floral Motifs

Vancouver-based artist Caitlin Benson (of Cinder & Honey) embroiders vintage-inspired flowers that will last a lifetime. Before reaching for her embroidery hoop, the designer always starts with a sketch on paper, which undergoes several revisions before Benson begins preparing her needle and thread. Once this initial stage is complete, the creative breathes life into her idea as she transforms a stretch of fabric with her vibrant supplies.

Artist Dedicates His Life to Preserving Traditional Japanese Art of Wooden Sculpture Floats

Japanese artist Yosuke Yamamoto (also known as yosuke.horiyo) wields his carving chisel as though it were an extension of his own arm. From an early age, Yamamoto was awakened to the art of wood carving, watching the thrilling danjiri parade from the sidelines in his hometown of Osaka, Japan. Inspired by the elaborate hand-carved wooden floats in these parades, Yamamoto was consumed with a passion for wood crafting.

Ordinary-Looking Home Is an Untouched Time Capsule of the 1950s Inside

An ordinary-looking home can hide some amazing things behind its unassuming facade. We've recently discovered that a suburban dwelling in Oregon has a Renaissance-era castle inside, and similarly, this seemingly unremarkable 72-year-old house in Toronto, Canada actually has a pristine interior decor that's a time capsule to the mid 20th century. The preserved interior design of the home was discovered, when it was put on the market.

Artist Rides Bike Around City to Create Elaborate Doodles with GPS Routes

Before dawn on January 1, 2015, artist Stephen Lund snuck out of his house and “painted” a New Year's message on the streets of Victoria, Canada. This painting was not your typical artistic endeavor–instead of a brush on canvas, Lund rode his bike around town and tracked his journey using a GPS. The combination of a very specific cycling path and GPS software created an unconventional work of art.
