Touching Photos of Rescue Dogs with Their Tattooed Owners

To combat the prejudices felt against both tattooed people and rescue dogs, photographer Brian Batista started a heartwarming project. He would photograph them together. Tattoos and Rescues began back in September 2012 in Birmingham, Alabama and it shows photos of rescue dogs with their loving owners. Pit bulls, with their bad reputation, are the ones often featured in this series.

Linear Designs of Minimalist Tattoos Gracefully Flow Across Bodies

Using intricate, crisscrossing lines and a minimalist aesthetic, Chaim Machlev creates beautifully-unconventional body art. The Berlin-based tattoo artist etches flowing abstract designs on skin that often spans the length of an arm, leg, or back. Sometimes, the compositions will continue from one body part to another. Regardless of their placement, Machlev's tattoos feature elegant, sweeping marks that look like twisted structures.

Eva Jospin’s Enchanting Forests Crafted Out of Cardboard

In an interesting juxtaposition, sculptor Eva Jospin creates enchanting forests from cardboard. The Paris-based artist cuts and gules cardboard to craft dense, multi-layered and highly detailed forests with stunning depth of field. Gazing into the trees can nearly make a viewer fear getting lost in the woods. The cardboard's corrugated edges form a convincing texture for the bark of the trees, and the paper's natural color works well with the forest theme.
