Intricately Detailed "Litter Bugs" Created With a Collection of Vintage Objects

British artist and illustrator Mark Oliver calls his on-going series of assemblages Litter Bugs, but they're much more than the name might imply. A childhood fascination with his father's collection of electrical and engineering components influenced his creation of these intricately-crafted and imaginative creatures. Oliver painstakingly collects objects like mechanical gears, old tins, eyeglass arms, and more as raw materials for his work.

Whimsical Narratives Blur Elements of the Past with the Present

Dancing with Costica is an imaginative series in which Australian photographer Jane Long transformed old photographs into colorful and creative compositions. Long used original glass plate black and white images, originally created by Romanian war photographer Costica Acsinte, as the foundation for her work. She produced surreal stories by colorizing each print and then digitally blending together all of the unique elements into one striking composition.
