Cat and Owl Combine to Form the Adorably Bizarre "Meowl"

If you're a fan of owls and cats, then it's time to rejoice. A Meowl is the best of both worlds in a bizarre-yet-adorable combination of bird and feline. Like the wonderfully-punned name suggests, it's a cat's head that's superimposed on an owl's body. The mythical creatures appear surprisingly natural as the coloring and patterning on their fur and feathers seems to effortlessly complement one another. Photocopied Men Attempt to Break Out of Picture Frames

This clever collection by artist Steven Guermeur playfully challenges the limitations of a conventional picture frame. Entitled Action Against the Frame, the series explores how artwork is traditionally presented to the world and how changes to that approach alter the general feel of the work as well as a viewer's expectations. Each piece features a black and white photocopy of the artist attempting to break free from the boundaries of his surrounding wooden edges.
