Surreal Images Show What Venice Would Look Like if it was Completely Frozen

Has Venice's famous Grand Canal completely frozen over? Not quite. Though it may appear so in these photos, they're actually the clever work of art director Robert Jahns (or nois7 on Instagram). He's taken photos shot by others, like Venice's Piazza San Marco by Luis Manuel Osorio Fernando, and Russia's Lake Bakail taken by Daniel Kordan, and spliced them together to create a surreal composite that looks almost believable.

In today's age of technology and internet culture, things like emojis, social media updates, likes and notifications, and Google services have become more familiar to many of us than picking up a newspaper or talking on the phone. Kiev, Ukraine-based artist Nastya Ptichek brings history and the modern age together in a tongue-in-cheek series called Emoji-Nation, which reinterprets classic artworks such Edvard Munch's The Scream using expressions associated with digital culture and computer technology.

2,700 Feet of Fabric Layered Into Colorful Chair Design

This Layers Cloud chair is an inventive design created with modern flair and innovative style. Using precision and immense detail, Dutch designer Richard Hutten developed the seat with patterns of fabric layered together into arrangements that create texture similar to layers of rock. The unique concept is composed of 545 pieces–more than 2,700 feet–of colorful Divina fabric by Kvadrat, Europe's leading manufacturer of design textiles.
