Photographer Overlays Photos, Creates a Window to the Past

Hungarian artist and photographer Kernyi Zoltn compares images from the past to the present in his series titled Ablak a Mltra, translated as Window to the Past. The photographer takes images from Fortepan, a site with an online collection of amateur photos from 1900 through the 1990's, and overlays it onto his own images at the same location.The black and white images from the past explore both the differences and similarities over time.

Emotionally Expressive Self-Portraits Utilize Negative Space

Portugal-based artist Cristina Troufa's collection of paintings are filled with the expressive emotions of women exploring themes of identity and self. She utilizes negative space on textured canvas to develop her figures, and her use of simple lines and soft color palettes are so perfectly fragmented that viewers will find themselves automatically filling in the gaps and piecing the composition together.

Incredible 3D Latte Art Pops Out of the Cup

There are many latte artists around the world, but one especially skilled barista has expanded his craft to not only produce amazing cappuccino “paintings” but to also have them pop out of the cup like foamy sculptures. Based in Osaka, Japan, 26-year-old barista Kazuki Yamamoto explores the unique craft of 3D latte art, proving that even the most mundane jobs can be perked up with a little creativity.
