Mark Jenkins’ Urban Sculptures Shock Rome

Global street artist Mark Jenkins is renowned for his expertise in simulating human figures out of your average roll of tape. The installation artist's latest sculpture displays that feature the human form can be found across the public urban spaces of Rome, Italy. In preparation for his first Italian solo show's opening, Jenkins has composed his life-like sculptures across the city in unconventional positions and locations.

Extraordinary Collage Art from Paper Strips

Originally mainly a painter, artist Patrick Bremer has recently started making quite extraordinary collage work as well. He creates his pieces with layers of collaged magazines and books on paper. Based in the UK, the artist chooses strips and chunks of paper that fit the image both visually but also sometimes textually, it isn't as haphazard as it appears!

Reconfigured Sporting Equipment

Guatemala-based artist Dario Escobar redesigns the structure of sporting goods. A trained architect, Escobar reconstructs athletic gear, slicing the equipment and assembling them in an atypical fashion. Initially, the pieces seemed to shine a light on the importance of design and our innate recognition of consumer goods. Despite disfigurement, we can identify what item Escobar has reworked. Delving in deeper, I realize that many of these sculptural installations rendered the original products useless.

Exceptionally Lit LED Animals

“Horse with No Shadow” and “The Blue Bird” are amazing LED light installations by Makoto Tojiki. The Japanese artist is interested in the relationship between light and shadows and how they can be manipulated. He breaks down figures to capture the essence of them in a fleeting image. Tojiki ellaborates, “Through my work, I seek to stimulate how people see objects.
