The Mysterious Woman Behind the Pinkberry Brand

Korean woman named Shelly Hwang is a USC graduate who ran two unsuccessful franchises before opening Pinkberry. She partners with Young Lee, a South Korean bouncer (yes, Korean men are badass) turned architect (weird career change) and tried to open a teahouse in West Hollywood in a 600 sq. ft.

Modern Architecture – Singapore’s Digital Cloud Skyscraper (5 pics)

Designed by Singapore-based Design Act, this digital cloud skyscraper was a finalist in a competition to design Singapore's pavilion for the World Expo 2010. Entitled “My Dream, Our Vision”, the project is constructed from 3866 cubes of varying opacity that perfectly encapsulates the spirit of Singapore as an efficient, dynamic, cosmopolitan, and forward-looking nation. Embodying “xin” (or “new”), visitors are encouraged by music to post their dreams inside.
