Over 1,700 Artists and Arts Workers Will Receive Aid From the LA Arts Community Fire Relief Fund

Since its launch in January, the LA Arts Community Fire Relief Fund has served as a critical lifeline for artists and arts workers impacted by the devastating wildfires in Los Angeles. The initiative, led by J. Paul Getty Trust, alongside several art institutions in the city, has successfully raised more than $14 million for redistribution efforts.

Researchers Discover the First Royal Tomb of an Ancient Egyptian Pharaoh in Over a Century

In 1922, British archaeologists uncovered the royal tomb of the pharaoh Tutankhamun near Egypt’s Valley of the Kings. Since then, no such ancient tombs have been found around that area—until now. On February 18, Egypt’s Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities announced that a joint Egyptian-British archaeological team unearthed the tomb of King Thutmose II, who ruled ancient Egypt during the 15th century BCE.

Surreal Sculptures Capture Fragility and Depth of Human Experience

Catalan sculptor Jaume Plensa, who is known for his monumental installations, revisits a more intimate setting in an exhibition called Murmuri. Even the exhibition's title, which translates from Catalan to “murmurs” or “whispers,” points to the personal nature of the work. Through a series of sculptures and works on paper, Plensa gives visitors a clear look at his impressive oeuvre and his ability to transform materials. Two sculptures from Plensa's Nest series anchor the show.
