Swimmer Breaks World Record by Swimming 88 Miles for Nearly 3 Days Straight

Swimmer Neil Agius just made history and broke a world record. The Maltese athlete swam around his native Malta and the islands of Gozo and and Comino for nearly three days straight. His mission, known as Small Island, Big Swim, resulted in the athlete swimming 142.3 kilometers (88.4 miles) in 60 hours 35 minutes and 4 seconds without stopping.

Back in the day, silent films weren't limited to accompanying music. Thanks to a very clever instrument known as the photoplayer or fotoplayer, pictures got diegetic sounds such as thunder, bird chirps, doorbells, and gunshots, as well as a whole orchestra-worth of musical instruments. These instruments appeared in 1912, falling out of fashion with the arrival of “talkies” in the late 1920s.

Man Builds UFO-Shaped Jet Boat From Scratch and Drives It on a River

UFOs are best known as saucers zipping through the skies in sci-fi films, but thanks to clever YouTuber Tran Long Ho from the Mr Ho Thanh Che channel, they may now actually roam our world’s bodies of water. The Vietnamese inventor recently built a UFO-shaped motorized boat from scratch, devoting hours on end to its design, construction, and testing. The result is impressive and thrilling to watch.
