Glass Wave Rings and Necklaces Let You Wear the Swirling Motion of the Ocean

Jewelry designers Lada Tazetdinova and Ekaterina Kotova are the makers behind DriftLand, a jewelry brand that creates one-of-a-kind rings, necklace pendants, earrings, and bracelets inspired by ocean waves. Handmade with clear and blue glass, each free-form shape is made using a process called annealing, whereby the material is melted, formed, and cooled using a temperature-controlled kiln. The resulting sculptural pieces of glass jewelry are incredibly textural, immortalizing the movement of crashing waves.

Ornate Surreal Sculptures Formed From Thousands of Ordinary Objects

Plucked from ordinary life, the items used to create artist Kris Kuksi‘s surreal assemblages are transformed into high art. Since 2004, the American artist has focused on his sculptures, each tinged with a slightly Gothic, dark feel. Using railway model kits, figurines, jewelry, wedding cake parts, wood trim, resin, rocks, and other found materials, he slowly builds up each piece. Paris-based “paper designer” Camille Ortoli creates intricate installations that capture the chic side of paper-crafting. In addition to haute couture commissions and other commercial work, Ortoli also focuses on personal projects, including her stunning series of paper Haussmann buildings. Giant Buddha Is Surrounded With Harmonious Mound of 150,000 Lavender Plants

Renowned Japanese architect Tadao Ando brings harmony to the landscape by enclosing a large stone Buddha in a lavender covered hill. Located in the Makomanai Takino Cemetery in Sapporo, Ando was charged with shaping the landscape around the pre-existing sculpture.
