World’s First Underwater Villa Offers Spectacular Living 16 Feet Below the Sea

If you’ve ever dreamt of being like Ariel and living under the sea, now’s your chance to make your fantasy a reality. The Conrad Maldives Rangali Island recently announced what they believe to be the world's first underwater villa. They’re calling the stunning locale Muraka, or “coral” in Dhivehi (the local language of the Maldives), and it's projected to sit 16 feet and four inches below the surface of the ocean.

David Bowie Tribute Installation Takes Over NYC Subway Station

In a collaboration between Spotify and the Brooklyn Museum, New York’s Broadway-Lafayette subway station has been given a makeover as a tribute to the late, great David Bowie. The installation is part of the current David Bowie is exhibition at the Brooklyn Museum, where over 400 objects of the Starman’s personal archive are on display—including show costumes, vinyls, photographs, and handwritten lyric sheets.

Artist Turns City Satellite Maps Into Abstract Pattern Paintings

Shanghai-based artist Lu Xinjian’s City DNA series depicts the world’s major metropolises—including Beijing, London, and Paris—as maze-like abstract paintings. By studying satellite maps of each location on Google Earth, the artist then extracts and simplifies visual information by sketching the city layout as a myriad of geometric shapes and graphic lines, which represent, what in architecture is termed “city DNA.
