15 Gorgeously Designed Henna Tattoos with Unbelievably Intricate Patterns

For thousands of years, the art of henna (called mehndi in Hindi & Urdu) has been practiced in India, Pakistan, Africa, and the Middle East. The henna plant is crushed and mixed with other ingredients into a paste, which can then be applied to the skin in dazzlingly intricate patterns. Once the paste is removed, the reddish-orange stain begins to oxidize and darken over the next few days.

Mexican Folk Art Sculptures Created by Residents of Oaxaca

In the Tree Magic Folk Art Etsy store, wooden Mexican folk art sculptures of stylized animals come to life with vibrant colors and whimsical features. The sculptures are created by residents of Oaxaca, decorated with elements characteristic of folk art from the state –designs made of brightly colored dots and animals with exaggerated ears, tails and facial features. The artists carve the figures from copal wood and decorate them with acrylic paint.

Artist Do Ho Suh’s Colorfully Transparent NYC Apartment

In Seoul, he debuted an amazing life-sized replica of his Korean home and his first apartment (which was located in Rhode Island), and now Korean artist Do Ho Suh is back with yet another amazing fabric creation. This newly exhibited one marks the closure of his “Home” series. On view at the Contemporary Austin, visitors will find the apartment complex where the artist lived while residing in New York City, or 348 West 22nd Street.
