Vogue Invited Met Gala Guests to Pose in Its Futuristic Tunnel Photo Booth

In an age of gifs and videos, who needs stationary portraits? This forward-thinking idea is precisely why Vogue Magazine decided to forego the traditional photo booth at this year's Met Gala and opted to offer the fashionably futuristic guests an opportunity to create a video portrait. In collaboration with filmmaker Gordon von Steiner, Vogue had a tiny set inspired by the event's Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology theme. “The idea is to take the traditional photo booth and flip it on its head,” the New York-based creative explained to Instagram Blog, “to create something futuristic and unexpected.”

Each participant was invited into a lively tunnel with pulsating tubes of light lining the walls. How they chose to pose was entirely up to them. While some (such as Oscar winner Alicia Vikander) opted to twirl and dance their way through the strobing room, there were those like Vogue's very own Anna Wintour who chose to let her still presence offer a contrast to the chaotic throbbing of light all around her.
