Japanese Instagrammer Yota uses art to transport his two young kids into imaginary scenes. His son and daughter are first photographed on a white backdrop and then the creative dad uses a digital pen to sketch on top of the pictures. The results transform Yota's brood into iconic characters from animated pop culture. While his drawings run the gamut of inspiration, Yota pays special attention to anime and often combines his mild-mannered children into action-packed illustrations.

There's a wonderful sense of nostalgia when browsing through Yota's delightful portfolio of collaborations with his children. When we're kids, the world seems to be full of possibilities, no matter how fantastical the ideas may be. (It’s why we want to be a prince or princess when we grow up!) Through these creative portraits of his kids, Yota is highlighting this idea by having his children be part of stories like Princess Mononoke, Spirited Away, Sailor Moon, Pokémon, and more. As they get older, these illustrations are sure to foster the kids' own imaginations and inspire them to be as great as the characters they play in their dad’s Instagram gallery.
