Awesome Microscopic Photos of Alcoholic Beverages

Alcohol connoisseurs all over the world will enjoy this photo project created by BevShots. What you see here aren’t abstract paintings, but rather, they are extreme close-up photographs of alcohol as seen from underneath a microscope. From Oatmeal Stout to Dirty Martinis, this collection of photographs features all kinds of fancy drinks in a distinctly unique and interesting perspective.

About 20 years ago, scientist Michael Davidson discovered that the images taken with a microscope could be used for more than just scientific studies. After his discovery, he needed to find funding to continue his research and microphotography. So he pursued businesses, teamed up with BevShots, and the rest is right before your eyes. The designs have been turned in to everything from framed prints, to flasks, coasters, neckties, and even fashionable wraps.

To capture the details of your favorite beer, wine, liquor, or mixed cocktails, the liquids are crystallized on a slide and photographed under a polarized light microscope. The vivid colors and patterns are captured as light refracts through the beverage crystals. Fans of this artwork can take a yummy margarita that is magnified up to 1,000 times and hang it right on the wall as a perfect addition to any home decor. Who knew that alcoholic beverages could be so beautiful?!

Animal-Friendly Vegan Tattoos Celebrate Nature with Delicately Inked Illustrations

Body art professionals, like Anna Sica, are turning to animal-free inks to create beautiful vegan tattoos.
