As Robert Bringhurst, from The Elements of Typographic Style, once said, “Typography exists to honor content.” I couldn't agree with him more. In fact, in this set of pictures words don't just honor content, they take on a meaningful life of their own. Whether fonts transform simple letters into symbolic works of art or whether they blend together to create one large meaningful statement, type exists to convey a message as well as to evoke an emotion. I hope you enjoy a collection of my twenty most favorite pieces of typography art. Scroll down to the last three if we're just not on the same page. 🙂
