While many artists seek to replicate reality through three-dimensional paintings, Los Angeles-based artist Alexa Meade goes the opposite route and paints on three-dimensional subjects to make them seem two-dimensional. The clever artist uses her keen eye for color and experience in painting to cover real-life figures in acrylic, transforming them into a seemingly flat work of art.
Meade, whose work has caught our attention in the past, manages to not only paint live models into believable 2D renditions of themselves, but also integrates them into walls covered in multi-hued graffiti. She merges her fine art skills with street art and photography to produce these remarkable images of stencil-like monochrome urban youths against colorful spray painted murals.
