When a dog named Daisy was found on the side of a road in Bellflower, California, she spent two months in a shelter and was scheduled to be euthanized when something extraordinary happened. A remarkable volunteer from A Home 4Ever Rescue saved Daisy's life when she agreed to foster her for several months before finding her a forever home with Sheena, her compassionate new owner. Although the lovable pup was born with an underbite and many dislocated joints, Sheena has found that her new friend is a constant source of inspiration to everyone that she meets.
Both Daisy and her owner have started “Underbite Unite,” an uplifting campaign that advocates for adopting shelter pets over purchasing pets. Through this heartwarming project, Daisy is helping to spread an important message about how wonderful special needs dogs can be. “I never looked at Daisy's disability as a hindrance. I see her as a strong girl and feel the same way about all disabled dogs,” Sheena explained to Distractify.
The adorable pup's loving owner does whatever it takes to make Daisy's life the best it can possibly be, whether that means knitting extra padding for her wheelchair or using a stuffed animal to adjust her companion's posture while she eats. Even when they go for walks and people ask about Daisy's condition, Sheena always takes a moment to advocate for adoption and disabled dogs.
