Minnesota couple David and Sarah Olson already had two wonderful sons, Zakary and Levi, but they always knew they wanted a third child–a beautiful baby girl to complete their family. After complications from her first two pregnancies, Sarah was unable to have any more children, so the couple decided to turn to adoption. After applying and going through a home evaluation, all they could do was wait for a match.
“We think about her every day,” Sarah confessed in a video about their adoption process four months ago. “We talk about her with our boys every single day. I think they already think that she exists in our house. She has her own room already. We plan for her, we talk about her, we think about her, and we dream about her daily.” David, by his wife's side, added, “Can't wait to have her home.”
Fast-forward to July, and the couple's dream came true. Last Tuesday, they found out they had a match, and the next morning, they were on a plane to Florida. Their friend, photographer Kristen Prosser, accompanied them on their journey to document the events leading up to the fateful meeting between parents and child. Through her lens, Prosser captured the nervousness, excitement, and giddiness of the Olsons during the trip, all the way up to the moment that Sarah and David laid eyes on their baby girl in the hospital. With tears in their eyes, husband and wife tenderly embraced their new daughter, Tilly Pearl, in their arms as they overflowed with love and affection.
“It was one of the most special moments of my life, I was so privileged to watch this all unfold,” the photographer shared on Facebook. “What a perfect example of unconditional and sacrificial love.”
With Tilly Pearl in their arms, the Olsons returned home to Minnesota, where they will start their life as a family of five.
The day after finding out about their new baby girl, David and Sarah flew from Minnesota to Florida early in the morning.

And now, with Tilly Pearl joining her big brothers Zakary and Levi, David and Sarah have the family they've been dreaming of.
