Astronaut Don Pettit Captures Bright Green Aurora From the International Space Station

Astronaut Don Pettit recently returned to Earth, having accumulated 590 days in space. At age 70, he is considered NASA's oldest active astronaut, and the third oldest to ever be in orbit. Across his four space missions, Pettit has shown a knack for orbital astrophotographyโ€”that is, images of space shot from orbit aboard the ISS. Just a couple of weeks before flying home, he captured a bright green aurora from his unique perspective.

NASAโ€™s James Webb Space Telescope Discovers Strongest Indicators of Life on Another Planet

With the help of NASAโ€™s James Webb Space Telescope (JWST), astronomers now believe they have detected possible signs of life on another planet. A new study recently published in Astrophysics Journal Letters details these astounding findings, which claim that the atmosphere of K2-18b, an exoplanet about 124 light-years away, suggests the presence of dimethyl sulfide (DMS) and potentially dimethyl disulfide (DMDS).

Blue Ghost Lander Celebrates Successful Moon Landing by Capturing Spectacular Images of Earth

Lunar history has been made. After a 45-day transit and traveling more than 2.8 million miles, Firefly Aerospaceโ€™s Blue Ghost lander touched down on the Moon, carrying vital NASA payloads. With this, Firefly has become the first commercial company to achieve a fully successful lunar landing after several failed attempts from other private enterprises. Following a mid-January launch from NASAโ€™s Kennedy Space Center in Florida, Blue Ghost landed on the Moon at 3:34 a.m.
