Morgan Spence, a 15-year-old aspiring filmmaker from Scotland, spent three weeks using hundreds of LEGO bricks to recreate famous movie scenes in an amazing stop-motion animation. Popular scenes from iconic works such as Dracula, Breakfast at Tiffany's, and Titanic are instantly recognizable even in tiny plastic form, speaking to the fame of the films as well as Spence's extraordinary skill at replicating characters, props, scenery, and other details using the toy building blocks.
Each scene–lasting just a few seconds–took the teenager between 15 minutes to two hours to film. While Spence admits that stop-motion requires quite a bit of patience, he told the Daily Mail, “I really do enjoy the animation. I'm a big fan of LEGO–it lets my imagination run free.”
Spence's animation, which features the custom printed minifigures of artist Warren Elsmore, was created as a trailer to promote Elsmore's new book Brick Flicks, available online now.
