Designer Edward McGowan of PlainJoe Studios recently shared a photo of a Star Wars-themed bedroom that's built for kids but will undoubtedly have adults wanting to live in it, too. His brother Peter McGowan, an architect and interior designer, built it for his son. The room's centerpiece is the impressive bed. It's a mashup of a Millennium Falcon cockpit with a leg from an AT-AT used for support.
The awesome dad started the project a year ago, and Edward documented its construction. Even then, the bare bones were an impressive sight. Edward explained on Reddit that he and Peter work together, and this is the sort of thing they do for clients. The bedroom set was created with “found items,” and other people pitched in and donated their time to make it happen. It only cost around $250.
In addition to the bed, the wing acts as a desk, and the front of the window is made to look like a hangar door. It even slides opens to reveal the window. What a great room for a kid, and one that Peter's son is sure to cherish for years to come – especially since it was made by his dad.
