A regular, linear piano with 88 keys was just not enough for musician Brockett Parsons. So, the Lady Gaga lead keyboard player put together a team of designers to develop The Piano Arc, also playfully known as the Brockettship.
The innovative keyboard design is a circular instrument composed of 294 keys–3 separate 88-note keyboards joined together–and one 28-note control section. The height and tilt are adjustable and, once set up, the layout allows the musician to move around and more freely rock out as he or she plays.
When asked why he wanted to develop this idea, Parsons explained, “I believe that I work for one of the greatest performers of all time, and I was just really inspired to try and make some sort of performance statement [inspired by] the people I'm surrounded by.”
