This series by UK-based artist Si Scott, entitled Resonate, features black ink illustrations inspired by British wildlife and old anatomical drawings. Scott's signature style often features an explosion of expressive pen strokes bursting with energy, and these animal portraits are no exception.
Putting pen to paper, Scott creates all of his images by hand and then scans them to create the digital files. It's hard not to stare in awe at the beautiful simplicity of the flowing lines and deep, solid blacks that pop out against the stark white background. His contemporary style is rich with an intense attention to details, and portraits of a pigeon, fish, stag, and hawk, to name a few, naturally emerge from the tangled swirl of intricate lines, shapes, and patterns.
