Delicate Peacock Tattoo Will Make Your Skin Sparkle with a Shimmering Pop of Gold

Though known predominantly as a cute and quirky childhood pastime, the temporary tattoo craze is no longer just for kids. Recently, chic stores and experimental artists have dabbled in the ephemeral craft, producing elegant decals fit for a grown-up. Tattly, a stylish shop that sells “designy” temporary tattoos, has recently collaborated with Rifle Paper Co., a fashionable Florida-based stationery store, to create a dazzling and eye-catching gold peacock tattoo.

Married design duo Anna and Nathan Bond launched Rifle Paper Co. in 2009. Initially a stationary brand, the creative company reflected Anna’s lifelong passion for visual art. “I'd loved graphic design and illustration on their own, but I immediately saw that stationery was the best combination of the two,” Anna told Everygirl in an interview. “I was already working on my own—it just made sense to try to develop a line and start a company.” Since the endeavor’s humble beginnings, Anna and Nathan have vastly expanded its product line and now work with a number of collaborators, like Brooklyn-based Tattly.

Dedicated to high quality and good design, Tattly co-operates with a team of professional artists and companies. To create their pretty peacock collaboration, Tattly and Rifle Paper Co. worked closely together, combining their creative strengths to produce a piece that is both sustainable—like all of Tattly’s tattoos, it is non-toxic and printed using vegetable-based ink—practical, and beautiful. Measuring just 3 x 3 inches and easily applied with a damp washcloth, the peafowl product will undoubtedly remind you of your temporary-tattoo-covered childhood. But, just in case you need a refresher course on the art of the application, Tattly has a helpful video to guide you (and inevitably make you feel like a kid again).
