Have you ever quietly thought to yourself, “I should buy a boat?” Well, you're in luck because the Royal Clipper is a sailing ship that offers the freedom of an aquatic adventure while at the same time providing luxury accommodations to those of us who may dream of escaping into the big blue yonder. As the world’s largest full-rigged sailing ship, this massive boat measures an astounding 439 feet in length, and comes complete with 5 masts, 42 billowing sails, and 19,000 square feet of open deck. Able to host up to 227 guests in its luxurious quarters, the Royal Clipper makes for a truly impressive sight on the open waters.
Full-rigged, in nautical terms, means having three or more masts that all carry sails, which is exactly what lends this boat its quaint (and record-breaking) appearance. However, this doesn’t make the ship any less modern—it comes equipped with state-of-the-art navigational equipment and all the amenities one could possibly need. With spacious indoor and outdoor environments, dazzling views of the water, delicious cuisine and extravagant living chambers, the floating hotel offers a unique cruise experience to its guests.
Designers of this magnificent sailing ship were inspired by the legendary tall ship Preussen which was built in 1902 and dominated the seas, only to disappear a few years after. Today the Royal Clipper steps into the vacancy that was left behind, “balancing the grandeur, adventure and tradition of sailing with the superb service, amenities and accommodations of the finest modern yacht.”
