Jessica Stewart is a Staff Editor and Digital Media Specialist for My Modern Met, as well as a curator and art historian. Since 2020, she is also one of the co-hosts of the My Modern Met Top Artist Podcast. She earned her MA in Renaissance Studies from University College London and now lives in Rome, Italy. She cultivated expertise in street art which led to the purchase of her photographic archive by the Treccani Italian Encyclopedia in 2014. When she’s not spending time with her three dogs, she also manages the studio of a successful street artist. Learn Why Some Sharks Experience Temporary Paralysis While They Mate

Gray nurse sharks, or sand tiger sharks, are a critically endangered species that can be found in the waters of Japan, Australia, South Africa, and the east coasts of North and South America. Given their conservation status, it's always an exciting moment when these sharks breed. A video shot by Australia's Wolf Rock Diving Centre is making the rounds online and has people fascinated by the behavior of these sharks during that process.

Over 600,000 Solar Panels Powered Super Bowl LVIII in Historic Green Milestone

Kansas City Chiefs fans were over the moon when their team won last night's Super Bowl in a thrilling game that went into overtime. But for climate activists, the real victory happened behind the scenes. For the first time ever, the NFL's biggest game of the year was played in a stadium powered by 100% renewable energy. Super Bowl LVIII was played in Las Vegas' Allegiant Stadium, which is home to the Las Vegas Raiders.

Newly Discovered Super-Earth Is Perfectly Placed To Have Water on Its Surface

NASA has revealed a newly discovered exoplanet located 137 light-years away, relatively close to Earth by space standards. Located in the habitable zone relative to its parent star, this super-Earth is one and a half times as wide as our own planet. The discovery is exciting because its location in relation to its star could make it possible for liquid water to form on its surface.

Spot the Self-Portrait II: How Many Famous Artists Can You Identify? [Quiz]

We're back with another art history quiz, and this one's quite a challenge. We first introduced our Spot the Self-Portrait quiz in April 2023, and we must admit, for anyone with a decent knowledge of art history, it was probably a breeze. So, for the sequel, we dug a bit deeper and found 20 more self-portraits by famous painters from the 17th century all the way up to the first half of the 20th century.
