Following in the footsteps (or paw prints) of Grumpy Cat and Angry Cat, this Surprised Cat is ready to join the ranks of internet feline royalty. Banye, an 11-year-old British Shorthair from China, has a perpetual look of surprise thanks to a patch of dark fur strategically grown beneath his mouth. The startled kitty has started to achieve online fame after his owner, Shanghai-based winnnie, posted photos of him on the Pinterest-like site Duitang.

Century-Old Photographs of Adorable Cats and Dogs

Harry Whittier Frees, an American photographer who lived from 1879 to 1953, may have created the original LOLcat images! His funny photographs show adorable animals dressed up in clothes and posed in human situations. Often accompanied by humorous captions, the photographs depict the furry little critters wearing clothes handmade by Frees' mother and using tiny props that look like they belong in a dollhouse.
