Apparently, it’s common for farmers to clothe their calves with specially designed earmuffs to protect their ears from frostbite. The newborn babes are more susceptible to the cold because of their age and size, so they need a little extra help to stay warm in the winter.

Beautiful Blue Jay Still Has Half of Its Baby Feathers as It Transitions Into Adulthood

Adolescence is an awkward time for all of us, but it’s not just people that go through physical changes—animals do too. In a photo posted on Reddit, a “teenage” Blue Jay (Cyanocitta cristata) is captured transitioning between having its fluffy, gray baby feathers to sporting its vibrant blue adult plumage. With gray down feathers up top and sleek, blue feathers on its lower half, this little bird seems to have a split personality.

Golden Retriever Breaks Guinness World Record for Most Tennis Balls Held in the Mouth by a Dog

Many dogs love playing fetch, but there’s one pup in Canandaigua, New York, who can’t seem to get enough of it. Finley the Golden Retriever can hold six tennis balls in his mouth at one time, earning him the Guinness World Record for “most tennis balls held in the mouth by a dog.” Golden Retrievers have a natural drive to retrieve (hence the breed’s name), but tennis balls are particularly enticing for these playful dogs.
