Architect and photographer Alessio Forlano bridges his professional and personal passions with his stunning black and white architecture photography. It's a combination of interests that Forlano tried to keep separate, thinking that his photography would provide a creative refuge away from his work as an architect, but in the end this separation proved futile. Instead, his series EmotionArch aims to show viewers how contemporary architecture provokes an emotional reaction.

Spectacular Drone Photos Capture the Densely Packed ‘Walled City’ in Hong Kong

Photographer Andy Yeung continues his look at Hong Kong with a new series of stunning aerial photographs. Flying his drone high over the Kowloon Walled City, Yeung gives us a glimpse at the densely packed geometry of Hong Kong's high flying apartment blocks. With Walled City, the photographer explores the largely ungoverned settlement in Kowloon City. Once a Chinese military fort, it was transformed into a housing enclave, with the population exploding after World War II.

Small Island Has Traditional Sheds Made of Upside-Down Fishing Boats

On a small island off the northeast coast of England, rows of fishing sheds dot the coastline. In Lindisfarne, also known as Holy Island, the fishermen made clever use of the materials they had on hand when designing their sheds. By using overturned boats, these traditional structures show ingenuity and a spirit of recycling that has existed for quite some time in the area.

First Bamboo Biennale Creates Cutting-Edge Structures in Small Chinese Village

Celebrating bamboo as a construction material, the first International Bamboo Architecture Biennale took place in the small village of Baoxi, China in 2016. The mainly agricultural mountain village is located twelve hours from Shanghai and is now home to these incredible structures designed by twelve international architects. These images, shot by photographer Julien Lanoo, give a sense at how the bamboo buildings blend into the community as permanent structures.
