World’s Tallest Statue Is a 600-Foot Homage to the Man Who Unified India

Standing above a river on the western coast of India, a tribute to the country's “unifier” stands tall. The Statue of Unity is so large that it is the tallest statue in the world. Completed in 2018, it depicts lawyer, politician, and statesman Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. Just who is this man being honored? Patel was a champion of India's independence from Britain and served as the first deputy prime minister and home minister of independent India.

Hypnotic Ceramic Sculptures Juggle Soothing Circles in Nested Shells

When looking at the sculptural ceramic art of Matthew Chambers, there is a lot to unpack. Using a potter's wheel and clay he produces mesmerizing tactile vessels that are actually multiple pieces merged into one round form. Underneath the external “shell” is several smaller bowls that are arranged like concentric circles. Based on the Isle of Wight in the UK, Chambers is inspired by the purity of circles as a shape.

Red Statues of Putin Riding a Tank Pop Up in Parks Around the World

The brainchild of French artist James Colomina, the statue shows the Russian leader riding a small tank like a child would ride a toy car.
