Banksy’s Version of Monet’s ‘Water Lilies’ Expected to Earn Up to $6.5 Million at Auction

Another Banksy painting is up for auction and it's expected to sell for a large sum. Sotheby's London has announced that the elusive street artist's 2005 Show Me the Monet will be part of their Contemporary Art Evening Auction on October 21, 2020. Estimated to fetch anywhere from £3 million to £5 million ($3.9 million to $6.5 million), the painting is an homage to Claude Monet's 1899 The Water Lily Pond.

Dolly Parton’s Black Lives Matter Statement Is Now a Mural in Nashville

During an interview featuring music legend Dolly Parton, the feisty superstar made a memorable comment concerning recent U.S. protests: “I understand people having to make themselves known and felt and seen, and of course Black lives matter. Do we think our little white a**es are the only ones that matter? No!” Parton’s remarks not only made headlines but also caught the attention of artist Kim Radford who immediately drew new inspiration from it.

Giant Flower Mural Painted Across 5 Surfaces of a Building in San Jose

San Francisco-based artist Mona Caron shines a light on the world of unseen plants through incredible mural art. She recently completed a large-scale painting of a flower on the facade of San Jose's convention center, covering five planes with lush, pastel-colored leaves. Entitled Limonium after a species of California marsh rosemary, this whimsical mural appears to look like one continuous flower even from different angles.
