Adorable 1-Year-Old Girl Is the First Adopted Child to Win Gerber Photo Search Contest

Back in 1928, baby food company Gerber held a contest to find a face to represent its brand. Artist Dorothy Hope Smith won the competition with her charcoal sketch of a wide-eyed infant with cute curls, and her image became recognized all over the world. Gerber continues to hold the annual Photo Search contest, with the aim to select one child from thousands of entries.

The healthcare providers who are on the front lines of treating patients for COVID-19 are clad in personal protective equipment (PPE) so that they stay healthy. Their suiting covers them, from head to toe, in an isolation gown, face mask, face shields, and goggles, making it impossible for them to do the simple things like smile at patients who are likely scared (in addition to feeling very sick).
