Cyanotype: The Photographic Process That “Blue” Everyone Away 170 Years Ago

Photographer Documents How People Live in Cramped Rented Rooms in Seoul

Seoul is one of the world’s most expensive cities to live in. These high prices make it a challenge for many people to find affordable housing. As a result, an alternative to the conventional apartment has emerged. Called goshiwons, these are not apartments but tiny rooms that are large enough for a twin-sized bed and some prized belongings. Photographer Sim Kyu-Dong showcased these units—and the people that inhabit them—in a fascinating series of images.

German photographer Jan Erik Waider has always been fascinated by the landscapes of the distant North. He spends much of his time exploring the rugged terrain of Greenland, Norway, Antarctica, and Iceland. For his latest series of abstract landscapes, Waider took a different approach and decided to focus on color. Brave Photographer Captures Great White Shark Leaping 12 Feet Above the Ocean

South African wildlife photographer Chris Fallows recently captured the photo of a lifetime thanks to one great white shark. The Pearl is a stunning black and white image, years in the making, of a great white leaping 12 feet above the ocean. And thanks to the attention it's receiving, Fallows is hoping to invest even more in the animal conservation that he is so passionate about.
