Japanese Fans Stay Behind To Clean Up Stadium After 2022 World Cup Opener

The World Cup has just started in Qatar and though Japan doesn't play until Sunday, Japanese fans have already been making a splash. Influencer Omar Farooq posted a video taken at the end of the opening match between Qatar and Ecuador. To his amazement, Japanese fans stayed behind at the end of the game to ensure that the stadium was spotless. That's right, they picked up everyone's trash.

U.S. Women’s Soccer Team Scores Big and Will Now Be Paid the Same as Men’s Team

The U.S. national women’s soccer team has scored a major win for equal pay. In an agreement announced on May 18, 2022, the U.S. Men’s National Team and the U.S. Women’s National Team (USMNT and USWNT, respectively) will be paid the same. The new collective bargaining agreement also includes the “equalization of World Cup prize money” so that both men’s and women’s programs will be awarded the same.

Japan Designed Unique Kimonos for Every Country at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics

At each Olympics, we are reminded of the interesting and varied countries on our planet. So, as the host country of the 2020 Summer Olympics, Japan wanted to do something special to highlight the history and culture of each nation. That is why in 2017, the Japanese international outreach association Imagine Oneworld began the Kimono Project—an initiative with the goal of creating a unique kimono for every country in the world.
