The threat of COVID-19 has meant that many of us around the world are currently self-isolating in an attempt to slow the spread of the virus. That includes celebrities, who are also practicing social distancing. Wonder Woman actress Gal Gadot took to Instagram on her 6th day of a self-imposed quarantine to spread a message of unity. She posted a video of herself and her A-list friends taking part in a group sing-along to John Lennon's Imagine.
More than 20 celebrities are captured singing, including Will Ferrell, Amy Adams, Jimmy Fallon, Kristen Wiig, as well as fellow superheroes Natalie Portman (Thor) and Mark Ruffalo (Hulk). Gadot says that she chose to sing Imagine after she watched a video of an Italian man playing the song on his trumpet on his balcony to his neighbors during the country’s lock-down.
“Day 6 in self-quarantine, and I gotta say that these past few days got me feeling a bit philosophical,” says Gadot in the video. “This virus has affected the entire world. Everyone. Doesn't matter who you are, where you're from. We're all this together.”
The heartwarming video spreads a message of hope during this uncertain time, and Gadot hopes she can encourage more people to do their part to help control the pandemic. “Staying at home is my superpower —and yours,” she wrote on Twitter. “The sooner we all stay home and keep ourselves from catching this very contagious virus, the sooner we can go back to our lives without losing lives.”
