Keeping things clean and sanitized is on everyone's mind right now. Of course, there's a lot of talk about face masks, which are vital, but what about all the other ways that you can transmit germs? These days, the one item that everyone is constantly touching with their hands and holds close to their face is their cell phone. And now, one organization has thought of an efficient way to make sure your handheld device is free and clear of germs.

Ampere has created Cell, an ingenious piece of technology that both sanitizes and charges your phone. Cell was designed to help combat the germs that invade our phones. Think about all the things you touch, and all the place you set down your phone. This makes the surface covered in more germs and bacteria than you'd probably care to think about. But, thanks to Cell, you can use your phone worry-free.

Cell is fitted with 4 UVC LEDs that remove 99.9% of germs in just 60 seconds. To use it, simply expand the hood and place your phone inside the device. In just one minute, your phone is ready to go. But beyond that, Cell is highly versatile thanks to its wireless charging plate and second USB-C output port to wire-charge a second device. It even doubles as a cell phone stand that can adjust to different positions.

Thanks to Cell‘s expandable hood, you aren't limited to just sanitizing cell phones. Air pods, smartwatches, and even house keys are just some of the items that can fit inside. And because Cell has a microbial exterior coating, you don't have to worry about getting your newly sanitized items dirty when picking up the hood.

Best of all, Cell can even be used as a handheld sanitizer when compressed down. Just wave it over any surface, like a laptop keyboard or kitchen table, and it will take care of the rest. As Cell doesn't require any heat, liquid, or chemical to work, you don't have to worry about ruining your items.

Estimated to start shipping in September 2020, Cell is currently available for pre-order on Kickstarter. Early bird orders are currently starting at $69, so hurry before they run out!
