Many dog owners would agree that there’s no other friend quite like a faithful canine. This includes 21-year-old Czech Republic-based traveler and dog photographer Kristýna Kvapilová who spends her spare time exploring the world with her beautiful 7-year-old Australian Shepherd, Charlie. Come rain, snow, or shine, the adventurous duo never miss out on exploring what Mother Nature has to offer, always with Kvapilová’s trusty Canon 5D Mark IV camera in hand. Her resulting dog portraits capture their stunning scenic exploits as well as their unbreakable, human-animal bond.
“[He] is my personal teacher and also the best and the most faithful model I've ever had,” reveals Kvapilová. “He’s a so-called professional dog model who can do many tricks, for example, lick on command.” Kvapilová’s Instagram portfolio shows Charlie enjoying the great outdoors, captured in a variety of adorable scenarios. From swimming in lakes to hiking mountains, each image captures his playful personality. “It’s not only about the photography but also about the experience of an adventure,” says Kvapilová. “Sleeping in a tent, getting our paws dirty and just walking in the breathtaking nature.”
When she’s not shooting adorable photos of Charlie, Kvapilová also takes pictures of other photogenic pups. “I focus primarily on pets and my goal is to make the photos look somehow more special than basic photos taken in the garden,” she says. “I like to capture the true nature of dogs in my portraits, their personalities.”
