A white smile with healthy teeth can give anyone instant confidence, but not all people can afford the luxury of regular dental care. That’s why Brazilian dentist Felipe Rossi set up his non-profit dental charity, Por1sorriso, with the aim to fix the teeth of less-fortunate people all over the world for free.
Rossi literally brings a smile to people’s faces by offering up to 1,500 free dental procedures including root canal treatment, cleaning, and restoration. His company, Por1sorriso, has around 4,000 registered volunteers, some of which accompany the 38-year-old dentist on trips to low-income communities where people live in poverty-stricken towns and villages. Typical 5-day missions typically cost around R$20,000 ($4,974 U.S.) and are funded by sponsorship and fundraising events, but individuals can donate, too.
Around 1,500 people have received free dental work so far, and Rossi plans to keep going. The generous dentist posts before and after photos on Instagram, revealing the many heartwarming transformations he has given. His patients appear visibly happier, showcasing that he’s not only changed their smiles, but their lives, too.
If you would like to help Rossi and his team provide vital dental care to those in need, you can donate via the Por1sorriso website.
