From political and environmental issues like global warming to social pressure and technology addiction, many people can relate to feeling overwhelmed by modern life. In a bid to highlight these issues, German artist Steffen Kraft (of ICONEO) creates thought-provoking graphic illustrations that visualize complex themes and feelings in his distinct witty style.
One striking image visualizes the human impact we have on our planet, illustrated as if it’s being shredded like paper. Another depicts avoidance in helping the needy, with a thought bubble saying, “The others will help.” Although Kraft’s poignant illustration art depicts all-too-relatable societal issues, his work also aims to motivate people to live more consciously and creatively. One matchbox-inspired image says “Light your creative fire” on the box, while another encourages us to “Plant trees. Not fire.”
