Soldier’s B&W Photos Capture Rare Glimpse of Seoul Rebuilding After Korean War

Born in an area that is now part of North Korea, photographer Han Youngsoo's work gives us rare insight into how the country rebuilt itself after the Korean War. Fighting on the front lines as a young South Korean soldier, Youngsoo returned to an unrecognizable Seoul after the war ended. Post-war Seoul, left devastated and impoverished, is the backdrop for Youngsoo's photography.

Stunning Modern Chapel in South Africa Has Roof that Appears to Take Flight

Set within a serenely expansive vineyard in South Africa, a new modern chapel by Steyn Studio, in collaboration with TV3 Architects, is an impressive piece of religious architecture. Capped by an undulating roof, the Bosjes Chapel pays homage to historic Cape Dutch homes. The chapel is set within the Bosjes Farm, with its swooping, symmetrical roof reaching down to dip into a reflecting pool.
