Monkeys and Kittens Combine to Form Adorable "Mittens"

Seoul-based artist and photographer Sarah DeRemer playfully combines different species of animals to form unique hybrid creatures. Using photos of cuddly kittens and adorable monkeys, she seamlessly fuses the two in a series called Mittens (monkey kittens). The results are fantastical and natural-looking portraits of something that we've never seen before. If you weren't ever told that these cute creatures didn't exist, then you might not ever realize it.

Wild Animals Wear Colorful Plaid Patterns in Delightful Painting Series

In Sean Landers' North American Mammals series, wild animals take on colorful plaid patterns, lending a debonair twist to the natural world. The paintings depict animals alone in their habitats against rather drab backgrounds, and the plain surroundings allow details such as soft halos of fur to stand out. The Scottish tartan patterns contour to the animals' bodies and movement, creating a distinct sense of shape and motion.

Maasai Tribe and Roaming Wildlife Attend a Gorgeous Wedding in Kenya

Wedding photographer Jonas Peterson captured breathtaking scenery complete with wandering wildlife when a couple wed in Kenya in the presence of their Maasai warrior friends. The bride and groom spent two years in the area putting together a book about a lion pride, and during the course of the project, they developed close, family-like relationships with the Maasai Mara locals.
